Joey Bada$$ is a new york native who is bringing back something distinct, nearly extinct and certainly deserve a listen. Born in 1995, Joey grew up with the backgrounds of the classic Hip Hop era of the 90s and 00’s.
Going into his last years of high school, the rapper and his friends formed a collective group called ‘Pro Era’. The unit includes talents like Producers, photographers, video directors and publicists.
His influence of musical royals like Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G., MF DOOM and Method Man is the reason his music is so nostalgic in sound. Still he brings something new for our ears which oozes confident and progressive to capture attention that was known in his heroes.
In 2012, he released a mixtape ‘1999’, which earned him critical acclaim and rapidly built popularity in the rap scene. You could literally go along with Joey as he talks through how he grew up, the good and the bad things he has gone through.
